A link to any resource on this web site (lua-users.org) is called a local link. To support site mirroring and offline browsing, we want all such links to be relative (that is, not starting with http://lua-users.org/...).
WikiNames automatically become local links. Never make an absolute link to a wiki page (for example, http://lua-users.org/wiki/...).
In addition to wiki pages, the file area [1] and lua-l archive [2] are local resources. To link to them, please use Files:... and LuaList:... respectively. For example, Files:wiki_insecure/test.txt and LuaList:1997-02/msg00000.html.
